About

Who I am

I'm studying Computer Science with a Major in Cybersecurity at the Australian National University, driven by an intense curiosity about improving security in both digital and physical spaces. Having grown up on a small farm, the "shut the gate" mentality never left me — I close doors behind myself, lock my machine the moment I stand up, and never write a password down.

Most of my energy goes into Canberra's cyber community. As Cybersecurity Officer of the ANU CSSA I design and run CTF competitions — including the 130-player Disorientation CTF — and I'm lead organiser of Bush Week Tech Fest 2026, a multi-day festival of CTF play and industry tech talks. Retail work at JB Hi-Fi supports my study; building and securing things is where my career is headed.

I learn deliberately: I ask as many questions as it takes, rephrase to confirm understanding, then lock new knowledge into practice. That, and a firm disinterest in ambiguity, makes clear stakeholder communication and procedural compliance two of my strongest assets.

What I build and run

Cybersecurity Officer

ANU Computer Science Students' Association

Nov 2025 – present

Instituted ANU's first Orientation Week Capture the Flag and ran it with great success: 130 players from four universities (ANU, UTS, Deakin, UNSW), $5,800 in sponsorship from three cyber companies, and a visit from EmuExploit, Australia's leading CTF team. I design and write the challenges myself — the full 2026 challenge set is open-sourced on GitHub.

JB Hi-Fi

Approaching three years alongside full-time study: customer service across consumer tech and trusted frontline provisioning of Telstra and NBN services. I operate in compliance with Telstra, NBN, PCI-DSS, ACCC and JB Hi-Fi policy — verifying customer identity documents to internal standards and screening for indicators of fraud, SIM-swapping and identity theft at the counter, while communicating contract terms clearly enough for genuinely informed decisions.
